When his film "Red Tails" was released earlier this year, George Lucas said that he was retiring and ready to move on to other things - which, yes, would mean no more "Star Wars" films.
The filmmaker reiterated as much when TMZ photographers flagged him down as he was exiting an L.A. eatery on Wednesday. They asked when fans would get to see the seventh, eighth and ninth installments in the "Star Wars" series - and, well, the answer is don't hold your breath.
"Never," Lucas responded as he made his way to his car. "I'm retired."
It looks like he meant what he said in an interview with New York Times magazine earlier this year: "Why would I make any more ['Star Wars' movies] when everybody yells at you all the time and says what a terrible person you are?" he inquired. "I think there are a lot more important things in the world."
